Nayanthara Calls Out Dhanush for ‘Vile’ Behavior, Alleges Personal Grudge Over Netflix Documentary
In a fiery open letter, actress Nayanthara has publicly criticized actor Dhanush, accusing him of harboring a personal grudge and obstructing her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale. The documentary chronicles her life, career, and relationship with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan but faced hurdles due to Dhanush’s refusal to grant permissions for the use of content from their 2015 hit film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

The Dispute Over Permissions
Nayanthara alleged that Dhanush, who produced Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, denied permission for using its songs, visuals, and behind-the-scenes clips. She expressed her frustration, stating that this refusal seemed rooted in personal animosity rather than legitimate business concerns. Despite repeated requests, Dhanush remained uncooperative, forcing her team to re-edit the documentary.

Legal Trouble Over Three Seconds of Footage
The conflict escalated when Dhanush sent a legal notice demanding ₹10 crores in damages for the alleged unauthorized use of just three seconds of footage. Nayanthara criticized this move as excessive, accusing him of being “vengeful and vile” while projecting a different image in public.
A History of Tension
In her letter, Nayanthara recalled past tensions with Dhanush, claiming that his ego was hurt by the film’s success and his behavior at subsequent award functions reflected this grudge. She emphasized that his actions have impacted not only her and her husband but also the many collaborators behind the documentary.
A Call for Positivity
Despite the accusations, Nayanthara ended her letter on a reflective note, urging Dhanush to find peace and embrace positivity. She highlighted the documentary’s aim to inspire others and hoped it might encourage Dhanush to adopt a similar perspective.
